PROGRAM OVERVIEW
The City of Indio has launched a Trash Enclosure Program to help businesses comply with a new ordinance that requires all existing developments, except single-family or multi-family residential development projects that do not necessitate communal or shared trash and recycling areas/containers, to comply with certain provisions. The Program is available to all businesses located in the City of Indio and provides a set budgeted amount of funds to assist with the cost of constructing the required trash enclosures.
Participating businesses will benefit from the City's expertise and assistance in the construction process and will avoid any penalties or fines associated with non-compliance. Please note that the new ordinance will go into effect as of December 31, 2024, and any site that does not have a trash enclosure that is in compliance with the ordinance will be subject to fines. For more information about the new trash enclosure program, please contact Jose Ramirez, Management Analyst at 760-391-4069 or via email at jramirez@indio.org.
