The City Fleet Services Division consists of of seven (7) staff members including our Fleet Mechanic Supervisor, Francisco Urbano. The City contracted with NAPA and desired to provide space to have NAPA be an on-site contractor. The on-site NAPA store increases our productivity level by concentrating only on the needs of our City yet decrease expenses by providing competitive pricing of parts and other goods as needed by the City.
Our highly skilled and multi-talented staff provides services that include but is not limited to the following:
- Monitor and Schedule preventative maintenance
- Make repairs
- Examine fleet to assure compliance with Federal, State and Local rules and regulations
- Monitor vehicle overnight retention request/permits
- Vehicle purchase and vehicle disposal
- Supplies fuel and maintain the City's fuel island
- Aggressively pursue all warranty claims
- Make certain all safety and campaign recalls are completed and forwarded to accounting for reimbursement
- Procure equipment in a timely matter that meets our end users need
- Train and inform staff of new safety, tooling and operating techniques of tooling and equipment
- Assure accident packages are completed and forwarded to accounting for reimbursement
- Maintain and review fleet maintenance records
- Track total cost of vehicles including parts and labor to determine the total net worth of the vehicle
- Assure compliance with:
- California Smog testing and reporting program
- California Diesel Opacity testing and record keeping
- California BIT (Biennial Inspection of Terminals) program
- CAL OSHA and MSHA regulations and safety standards
- Pressure Vessel Certifications, any needed or required
- Air Quality mandates by working closely with California Air Resources Board and South Coast Air Quality Board
