Jackson St Improvement Project - Road closure on Jackson Street between Ave 48 and Ave 50.

Who: City's contractor, Granite Construction 

What: Road closure on Jackson St., between Avenue 48 and Avenue 50. Traffic will be detoured on to Monroe Street and Calhoun Street as alternate routes. 

When: November 12 -15, 2024. 6:00 am - 6:00 pm

Where: Jackson St, between Avenue 48 and Avenue 50. 

Why: The contractor is removing and replacing a CVWD irrigation main line pipe in Jackson Street, near Avenue 49 and Odlum Dr.  L&G Desert Store will be accessible from the Avenue 50 side. Other utility work from other agencies will be done at the same time. They are compressing several weeks of work down to 4 days. 

Downtown Drainage Project - Road closure on Requa St and Smurr St

Who: City's contractor, Riverside Construction

What: Road closure on Requa St., between Smurr St and alley west of Towne St. Road closure on Smurr St., between Requa Ave and Civic Center Dr. 

When: November 1 -30, 2024. 24/7  

Where: Requa St., between Smurr St and alley west of Towne St. Road closure on Smurr St., between Requa Ave and Civic Center Dr. 

Why: Installation of the new storm drain being installed in the middle of the street.  


Jefferson St/Indio Blvd Overpass Median Improvements

Who: City's contractor, Marina Landscape

What: New palm trees, metal sculptures, rock wall, landscaping and Indio logo sign will be installed at the median between the Jefferson Street intersection and the railroad tracks. Expect the lane to be reduced down to 1 lane in the northbound direction while work is being done. All lanes will reopen at the end of each day and there is no work on weekends. 

When: November 1 -27, 2024. M-F 7:00 am - 3:00 pm.

Where: Indio Blvd between Jefferson Street and railroad tracks. Just south of the I-10 freeway. 

Why: This is a key entry to the City of Indio, and having a beautifully landscaped median will welcome residents and visitors to our City.
