The Indio Public Works Department commits to the betterment of its work force, the organization, and the community through trust, creativity, integrity, respect, and quality service to all.

The Public Works Department serves an area of 33 square miles, funds 36 positions and has six primary divisions: Administration, Engineering, Buildings & Parks, Streets, Fleet and Environmental Services. Those divisions consist of Engineering Services, Streets and Storm Drains, Traffic Services, Fleet Maintenance, and various facilities including parks, parkways, and buildings.
