SB 998 provides that a residential customer must be at least 60-days delinquent in payment of a utility bill before the water provider may terminate his or her services. This 60-day requirement before discontinuation of water service applies to all of IWA's residential utility customers since February 1, 2020.

If you have difficulties paying the water bill, please contact IWA Customer Service at 760-391-4038 or email iwa@indio.org for alternative payment arrangements.  There are different financial assistance programs currently available which you can find through our Customer Service page.

2022 Residential Water Service Shutoff for Non-Payment

There were 935 instances of water service shutoff due to non-payment in 2022.

There were 881 instances of water service shutoff due to non-payment in 2023.
