Credit Card Auto Pay Option - Available through the Web Portal
The Indio Water Authority bills customers on a monthly basis. The amount is considered past due if not paid by the due date. Service may be discontinued if the bill has been delinquent for 60 days. If the service is discontinued, the past due balance plus applicable reconnection fees and prepayment requirements must be paid prior to service being restored.
As a service to our customers, the Indio Water Authority offers the following multiple convenient payment options:
Option 1: Pay/View Bills Online (24 hours/7 days a week)
You can pay with your credit or debit card online through the IWA Web Portal and check your billing and consumption history.
Option 2: Pay By Phone using the VoiceUtility Line (24 hours/7 days a week)
Call (760) 347-4958 to pay your bill with a Visa, MasterCard or by check. All credit card transactions require a U.S. billing zip code. Prior to calling, please make sure you have your account number available. In addition, you can also access the Indio Water Authority’s VoiceUtility Line to:
- Check account balance and payment history
- Check billing history
- Request faxed receipts or start/stop service forms

Option 3: Auto-Pay/Direct Debit
No more postage, no more checks, and no more late payments! The Auto-Pay/Direct Debit program allows us to take your water payment directly out of your checking account on the day that your payment is due. This program is offered to all residential and business accounts in good standing with a history of no more than one returned check in the last 12 consecutive months. To enroll in the Auto-Pay/Direct Debit program please complete the Bank Drafting Application and Authorization Form and return in person or by mail along with a voided check from your banking institution to:

Once the Form and a voided check stub are submitted, it may take up to two billing cycles for payments to be drafted directly out of your account. For additional information about the Indio Water Authority’s Auto-Pay/Direct Debit program, call Customer Service at (760) 391-4038.
Option 4: Pay By Mail
When you receive your water bill from the Indio Water Authority and have a balance due, you will also receive a return envelope for payment. Simply place your check or money order (no cash), along with the utility bill stub from your invoice in the envelope and mail to:

Be sure to include your Account Number on your check and allow sufficient time for mailing and processing. Your payment may be delayed if you do not include your utility bill stub with your payment.
Option 5: Drop Box Payments (24 hours/7 days a week)
Residents may pay their water bill by check or money order in the night deposit box located at the City of Indio/Indio Water Authority Corporate Yard in Indio. Please enclose your payment in an envelope with the utility bill stub from your invoice and be sure to include your Account Number on your check. Drop Box Payments are collected Monday through Friday (except holidays). These locations can be found:

Payments made at City Hall Drop Box may take one business day to process

Option 6: Pay in Person (during regular business hours)
Water payments may be made in person by check, cash, Visa or MasterCard credit card at the City of Indio Corporate Yard/Indo Water Authority, 83-101 Avenue 45, Indio, California, during regular business hours.
The Indio Water Authority is open Monday - Friday from 8:00AM to 5:00PM, closed weekends and holidays.
