The City of Indio’s Economic Development Department is proud to introduce Indio Business Connect (IBC), an exciting new program created to support the growing needs of our thriving business community. Fully funded by the City’s Economic Development Department, IBC offers a comprehensive range of services, resources, and events—all designed to empower local businesses, fuel growth, and strengthen the overall economic vitality of Indio. This innovative initiative is a reflection of the City’s commitment to building a strong, resilient, and prosperous business environment. 

This program is a reflection of Indio's ongoing commitment to fostering a strong and resilient business environment. Whether you're a start-up or a long-established business, IBC will provide our businesses with the tools and connections to help their business succeed. By joining this newly launched program, new businesses will automatically gain free membership to IBC, unlocking exclusive benefits such as networking opportunities, access to business development resources, and invitations to special events aimed at promoting collaboration and innovation. IBC is not just a support system—it's a pathway to building lasting relationships within the local business ecosystem, helping members stay informed, grow their customer base, and navigate challenges with the backing of the City’s dedicated support network.

Indio Business Connect proudly collaborates with key organizations to deliver world-class support and resources to our local business community. These partnerships enhance our offerings and ensure that all Indio businesses have the tools they need to thrive.

"The Orange County Inland Empire Small Business Development Center (SBDC) Network is comprised over 100 small business owners and small business experts that are here to assist each client with one-on-one consulting and training. Our job is to assist each client with reaching a new level of success. When a client comes to us, they are sitting across the table from an expert, who has been in the client’s shoes. The work our consultants do with each client is hands-on, customized, and always confidential.

Our services are all at no cost, which include: Consulting, Training & Programs, Market Research, etc.  Plus, some of the areas of assistance include: Business planning, funding, marketing,, etc."

Membership Benefits

IBC will provide a variety of programs and partnerships to assist local businesses:

  • Membership is FREE at no cost.
  • Coachella Valley Women's Business Center Partnership: This partnership features the iTú Si Puedes! Programa para Pequeñas Empresas (TSP), a free 12-week Spanish-language program offered at no cost to Indio-based businesses and funded by the City of Indio. This 12-week program is specifically designed to empower Spanish­speaking entrepreneurs in our community, helping them achieve their goal of successful business ownership. Participants will have access to a series of comprehensive seminars, hands-on guidance from experienced business advisors, the opportunity to create vision boards, and complete a full business plan. By offering TSP, we are ensuring that entrepreneurs of all backgrounds have the support and tools they need to flourish.
    • The CV Women's Business Center Partnership will also offer a similar program in English and office hours for businesses to work through their own business needs, both at no charge to the Indio business community.
  • Partnership with Inland Empire Center for Entrepreneurship (IECE) through CSUSB: In partnership with IECE, the IBC will offer a mini MBA program to Indio business owners and entrepreneurs that will provide them with tools, educational seminars and resources to take their businesses to the next level. This program would be offered at no cost to Indio-based businesses and funded by the City of Indio.
  • Expanded Shop Local Initiatives: In addition to the Open Rewards program, the IBC will spearhead additional shop local campaigns, including seasonal promotions, marketing support for local businesses, and community events aimed at driving more traffic to small and medium-sized businesses. These initiatives will help create a stronger bond between local consumers and the businesses they rely on, contributing to a more resilient local economy.

  • Indio Impact: A monthly business newsletter to keep our community informed about business-related developments, opportunities, city council recaps of important and relevant information to the business community and success stories.
  • Business Meetings, Mixers and Events: Regular forums and educational events for businesses to connect, collaborate, and share insights.
  • Ribbon Cuttings & Grand Opening Celebrations: Official events to highlight and promote new businesses and expansions.
  • Indio Snapshot: Photography asset program offered to businesses in need of new and updated photography for the use of promoting their business.
  • State of the City and Business Awards
  • Workshops and Roundtable Events: How to negotiate a lease, HR, Payroll, Legal, etc.
