Start Water Service

If you have just moved into our service area, we provided you with an online PDF version of the Indio Water Authority  on the Forms, Rates & Fees Page to start water service. Please feel free to download and print the Application, fill in all the appropriate areas, sign, and date the second page of the application at the bottom. Make sure to save a copy for your records. Once the Application has been completed along with copy of your Drivers License or Government Issued Picture Identification of Country of Origin you can send the forms:

By fax: 760.391.6441, please allow 48 business hours from date received in office for processing; or

By Mail: Indio Water Authority, 83-101 Avenue 45, Indio, CA 92201 (once received, please allow 48 business hours from the date received in office for processing); or

In Person: At the City of Indio/Indio Water Authority Corporate Yard, all walk in START service requests at our office before 1 p.m will be turned on the NEXT BUSINESS DAY. Any walk in requests after 1 p.m will take TWO (2) BUSINESS DAYS to START service.

A deposit and establishment fee will be assessed on the first bill. To consider waiving a deposit fee the applicant can demonstrate established credit by providing a statement of good credit history for 12 consecutive months within the last two years from their previous water utility or other utility. Past due account history shall reflect payments were made on time and services were not interrupted due to non-payment.

For Your Protection

The Indio Water Authority is committed to providing superior customer service. Therefore, when establishing water service(s) the Indio Water Authority has adopted a stringent program to protect our customers from identity theft. Only the primary applicant listed on the Indio Water Authority Contract to start water service will have access to the account billing and payment information. Therefore, if you would like to have a spouse or relative have access to your utility account billing and payment information, please add that person as a secondary applicant on your application or fill out Authorized Signer Form and fax to 760.391.6440. Stop Water Service

If you would like to stop/cancel your water service, we have provided you with an online PDF version on the Forms, Rates & Fees Page. Once the Form has been completed you can send it:

By fax: 760.391.6440, please allow 48 business hours from date received in office for processing; or

By Mail: Indio Water Authority, 83-101 Avenue 45, Indio, CA 92201 (once received, please allow 48 business hours from the date received in office for processing); or

In Person: At the City of Indio/Indio Water Authority Corporate Yard, all walk in STOP service requests at our office before 1 p.m will be turned off the NEXT BUSINESS DAY. Any walk in requests after 1 p.m will take TWO (2) BUSINESS DAYS to STOP service.
