Indio Police Department Recognized for Innovative Strategies

The International Association of Chiefs of Police (IACP) recognized the Indio Police Department as a model for cutting edge and innovative strategies to involve residents and assist youth and vulnerable populations. IPD created the Chief's Advisory Board to engage with local residents, and founded the Truancy Prevention Task Force to help parents and youth reduce school absences. IPD's outreach to homeless individuals and creation of the Community Outreach Resource Program has placed individuals on the right track to a better life.
