In a collaboration with the Coachella Valley History Museum, The Coachella Valley Art Center will feature the works of three war veterans in the exhibition Ways of Remembering. The military contributions of the Valley’s veterans will remembered in this dynamic representation of visual memories that will include photographs, personal artifacts, and documents of our country’s wars.
The exhibit will feature the work of three active combat survivors. Glass artists Michael Aschenbrenner, a Vietnam War vet, and Jeffrey Stenbom, an Iraq and Afghanistan War vet, contribute beautiful and haunting works of art that aim to express the difficulty of surviving and reconciling their combat experiences. William Marquez, a Vietnam War veteran, designs powerful site-specific arti installations in his own efforts to remember and cope with this time living in Vietnam.
Join the CVAC and CVHM in honoring our Valley’s veterans. Ways of Remembering will open at the CVAC November 10, 2017 6-8 pm and be on display through December 2017. You can view these compelling works of art Monday-Friday 9am-12pm and Saturdays 9am-11am.
