Indio Performing Arts Center
Desert Theatreworks Summer Theatre Program
Is your child a budding thespian? Desert Theatreworks, partnering with the City of Indio, will be holding a 5 week summer theatre program at the Performing Arts Center. Participants between the ages of 8-19 will enjoy lessons in acting, singing, dancing, and even stage combat! Culturas Music & Arts
If your child is looking to take a summer class in the Arts, Culturas Music & Arts has you covered. Summer classes include acoustic guitar, plant-based culinary arts, and creative writing. Check out their Facebook page for a full course offering and registration instructions.
Coachella Valley History Museum
Junior Historian Program
Designed for children in grades 2-5, this four week dynamic, project-based program will surely interest your fledgling historian. Learn about WWII and build your own glider. Map your own family's history. Fight the Revolution. Learn about the election process, run for office, and even visit Indio's City Hall! Summer Art Camp

Desert Recreation District
Ready to sweat? The Indio Community Center provides plenty of opportunities to do so, such as basketball, volleyball, racquetball, a weight room, and the District Gymnastics Academy. Renovated in 2014, the shiny new center also provides classes for all ages in martial arts, dance, and music. Don't feel like sweating? The center also holds movie nights! College of the Desert
Robots are our future, and so are our children! COD is offering a Summer Robotics Camp for middle-school students who are technologically inclined. Students will learn about the science behind robotics, using what they learn to build their very own robot! This class is an excellent way to foster creative problem solving, and is free to all. Students entering the 6th, 7th, or 8th grade are welcome. Classes will be held at the Indio Campus August 7-11, 8am-12pm. Don't miss this FREE class which establishes the familiarity in the relationship between code and development. These classes will be using Raspberry Pis and Arbuino. The topics will be Programming, Game Development, Ethical Hacking & Cybersecurity. The 1st half will be held at the Palm Desert campus June 19-20 and the second half at the Indio Campus July 31 - August 10. S.H.A.R.P.E. Leadership Program
Join the Indio Teen Center this summer for its 6 week leadership program, S.H.A.R.P.E., where students will engage in team building activities, listen to dynamic guest speakers, enjoy recreational games, and more. The program runs June 19th-26th every Monday and Wednesday.
6th Annual Intergenerational Summer Olympics
This summer, why not have your teen team up with a member of the Indio Senior Center to compete in fun and silly mock-Olympic games? Every week the games are different, and naturally, prizes are awarded. Spaces are limited to 10 teams, so make sure to arrive early! The games begin June 19th at the Indio Senior Center, but will trade off locations with the Indio Teen Center every other week. For more information, visit www.indio.org.
Indio Senior Center
The Indio Senior center offers a mosaic of classes throughout the summer for those 50 years or better. Craft classes include jewelry design, stained glass, and wood carving. Rather work up a sweat?
