Desert Oasis Music Festival

The first ever Desert Oasis Music Festival held at the Empire Polo Fields will feature a variety of artists and music, including reggae, R&B, and rock. Indio California BBQ State Championship & Festival

November 4, 2017

3rd Annual Indio California BBQ State Championship and Festival is a sanctioned contest featuring professional pit masters from across the nation competing for up to $10,000 in prize money. The event also features live music, kids zone, and craft beer! We invite you to be a part of the celebration. Admission is free.

 

Chellavision Short Film Fest in Indio 

November 18, 2017

The first ever Chellavision Short Film Festival comes to the Indio Performing Arts Center this year. Watch independent films from local and national film makers that will be sure to entertain and provoke conversation on how we see the world.  

 

Indio Powwow

November 24-26, 2017

The Indio Powwow takes place on the Cabazon Indian Reservation located in Indio, California. Included in the celebration are Native American dance competitions for contestants of all ages, bird singing, and drum contests. There are also opportunities for visitors to join dancers in the arena during non-competitive, inter-tribal dancing.


 

DECEMBER

 

Indio Tree Lighting Ceremony

December 2, 2017

The city of Indio plans to kick off the holiday season with a tree lighting ceremony. The event is free and open to the public located between City Hall and the Indio Public Library to light the giant Christmas tree. There will be carolers from local schools, holiday story time, and of course a visit from Santa! Admission is free.

 

Indio International Tamale Festival

December 2-3, 2017

The Indio International Tamale Festival is loaded with excitement. Visitors delight in scrumptious tamales, endless alternative food options, shopping, and all-day entertainment. Festival fans like to relax while enjoying a variety of live entertainment including live music from local and regional bands, traditional Folklorico dancing, vintage car show, and a community parade. Admission is free.

 

11th Anniversary Arbor Day Celebration

December 7, 2017

The City of Indio celebrates Arbor Day as the only Tree City USA Community in the Coachella Valley. Designated by the Arbor Day Foundation as a city with a sound urban forestry management program, Indio residents businesses, and organizations donate and take part in planting trees to help green the community. This year's event will take place at Dr. Carreon Park located on Dr. Carreon Blvd. east of Monroe St.

 

Indio Winterfest

December 9, 2017

Indio Winterfest is an Indio holiday tradition located in downtown Indio that brings the community and visitors together with food, fun, and entertainment. Experience the winter and the holidays during warm cool nights in the City of Festivals! Enjoy the lights on Miles Avenue, listen to carolers and other live entertainment, eat great food, and watch holiday movies and shows at the Indio Performing Arts Center. Admission is free.

Indio Polo Season

January 7, 2018

Empire Polo Club’s 2017 Polo Season. Sunday Polo kicks off on Sunday, January 1st with two featured matches at 12:00 PM and 2:00 PM. The official “Opening Day & Hat Day” at Empire Polo Club is scheduled for Sunday, January 8th, 2017.

 

Palm Springs Kennel Club Dog Show in Indio

January 6 & 7, 2018

The Kennel Club of Palm Springs annually hosts one of the most prestigious dog shows in the world and is considered the opening event of the dog show year in the west coast. The AKC Licensed All Breed Dog Show, Obedience and Rally Trials are held at the Empire Polo Club in Indio.  

 

Family Motor Coach Association Western Area Rally in Indio

January 10-14, 2018

Now in its 29th year, the FMCA annual rally is an opportunity for members to socialize, view exhibits, attend seminars and enjoy quality entertainment. This 5-day event brings nearly 20,000 visitors to Indio. With approximately 109,000 members, the FMCA is the world’s largest motorhome owners group. 

 

Sand Storm Lacrosse Festival in Indio

January 13-14, 2018

Now in its 10th year, the Sand Storm Lacrosse Festival is the premier co-ed lacrosse event in North America. Teams from across the country play championship tournament games. The event is free and open to the public, and is held at the Empire Polo Club in Indio.

 

Southwest Arts Festival Indio

January 25-28, 2018

Now in its 31st year, the Southwest Arts Festival Indio features over 200 artists from around the world. Includes interactive art displays and live music, with pottery, glass blowing and fine art painting. Visitors can also enjoy a variety of food and beverage options while casually walking the grounds.

 

FEBRUARY

 

Indio Health and Wellness Fair

February 6, 2018

This annual community event is open to the public and focuses on the health & wellness of those 50 years and older, and their families. The event is sponsored by the Friends of the Indio Senior Center, which is dedicated to enhancing the dignity and quality of the culturally diverse and aging population of the Coachella Valley.

 

Riverside County Fair & National Date Festival in Indio

February 16-25, 2018

Indio has been home to the Riverside County Fair & National Date Festival for over 50 years! This week-long event has live entertainment, including camel and ostrich races, and a nightly Arabian nights musical pageant. There is a wide variety of delicious food, carnival rides, and shopping.

Rhythm, Wine & Brews Experience in Indio

March 3, 2018

Enjoy live entertainment while tasting an assortment of wines and craft beer during this amazing “experience.” Over 5,000 attendees flock to the Empire Polo Club during this day to listen to a line up of reggae, funk, blues and rock bands. Over 80 breweries, wineries and food trucks are on hand, and incredible art pieces are also on display.

 

Indio Art in the Square Chalk Festival

March 8-10, 2018

The annual Art in the Square Chalk Festival promotes the arts using the medium of chalk to create wonderful artwork by professionals, students, visitors and residents. This hometown festival encourages everyone to participate to create their own masterpiece! Admission is free.


 

Indio Heritage Festival

March 17, 2018

This annual event at the world famous Coachella Valley History Museum celebrates Indio’s pioneers and highlights the history of the Coachella Valley that started in Indio. Families gather to enjoy live entertainment, quilt making, wood carving and much more! Admission is free.

 

Desert Boheme Fashion Show in Indio

March 30 - April 1, 2018

Celebrate fashion, art, music, food and drinks at the 2nd annual Desert Boheme Fashion Show at the Indio Performing Arts Center. Presented by Coachella Magazine, this event will awaken your curiosity. The event is  free and open to the public.

Coachella Valley Music & Arts Festival in Indio

Annual Desert Mental Health Arts Festival

May 8, 2018

Riverside County celebrates mental health awareness month by showcasing poetry, paintings, and drawings to increase awareness and promote services for families and communities. The event is free and held at the Riverside County Fairgrounds.
